Odyssey

Odyssey is the fifth soundtrack composed by Matt Johnson, following Tony (2010), Moonbug (2012), Hyena (2015), and Muscle (2020), all of which, except for Moonbug, were directed by his brother, Gerard Johnson, as is the new film Odyssey, which will have its world premiere on November 7th. It’s a stylish, blackly comic metaphysical thriller set in the shadows of London’s housing crisis and the ruthless world of greed, addiction, and survival. The soundtrack features 19 brand-new tracks, all written and produced by Matt Johnson and recorded at Studio Cinéola in London. Johnson performed every instrument himself, blending minimal electronic funk, motorik beats, and eerie atmospherics. Gillian Glover joins him on vocals for the tracks Unrequited and Live & Let Live, which have also been released as a strictly limited 7” single. The full soundtrack comes as a deluxe CD Hardcover Mediabook, complete with a beautifully designed 84-page booklet featuring a foreword by Jason Wood, Executive Director at the British Film Institute, along with film stills and on-set photos.
