Canadian-born, LA-based artist Mocky brings a disarmingly human touch to his first release for Stones Throw, a project centred on the richness of the voice as a communal instrument. Built with close friends gathered in his garage, the album resists digital sterility in favour of warmth and grain, with layered harmonies, live instrumentation and tape-recorded charm capturing something deeply analogue and alive. 'Infinite Vibrations' and 'Just A Little Lovin' balance gospel warmth with minimalist groove, while 'Wiggle Room' and 'Choir Beat' lean into playful vocal percussion. There's a through-line of intimacyitracks like 'Walking (Theme)' and '1000 Goodbyes' carry a sketch-like immediacy, like overheard ideas mid-bloom. Somewhere between soul, choral experiment and soft psych, this record feels like a family room jam reimagined as quiet protest against digital alienation.
