Description
Behind the Lee Mason name sits British composer and arranger Pete Moore, a yet-to-be-unlocked silhouette of UK library music whose cues near-anonymously soundtracked adverts, films and television through the late 60s and 70s, despite the name's siting in plain-sight. First released in 1971, this sidewinding originals album reveals Mason's night career as groove economist, with 'Shady Blues' earning that prized hip-hop stamp of approval when when Madlib dragged it into recirculation on his track 'Answers' with comic emcees Lootpack. Sitting apart from Moore's better-known commercial work, including the Pearl & Dean 'Asteroid' cinema theme, this marks its first appearance on vinyl since that initial UK issue, newly remastered with liner notes by Kevin Le Gendre.
