With the release of DOA's Hardcore 81 the north american punk rock explosion finally got a name. DOA were the first band to use the term 'hardcore' when describing the kind of hard-edged punk music they and their contemporaries had been playing for nearly three years. and how right they where with 1981 being the year hardcore broke across america.
