Bristol & Bath Blitz Club Meets Art School Sound - 80's Explosion gathers together music from a fertile moment in west country underground culture, tracing the overlap between post-punk experimentation, art school ideas and the influence of London's Blitz scene. Curated by Dave Massey, the compilation captures the eclectic spirit of early-'80s club culture and the creative energy emerging from Bristol and Bath.

The set moves between bright, offbeat pop from Vicious Circle, Wadi Vision, Hey Belaba! and Big Outdoor Type, electronic rhythms from Umo Vogue and Either/OR, and darker material from God Bless You. Elsewhere, Glaxo Babies, Essential Bop and Startled Insects push further into stranger territory, while The Escape, Distant Cousins and Europeans reflect the era's fascination with new sounds and identities.

Many of the musicians involved would later work with artists ranging from Massive Attack to Pet Shop Boys and Robert Plant, making this a fascinating snapshot of a scene whose influence stretched far beyond its local roots.
